Vlog: Back in the Land of Rainbows (Ireland in the Spring)

Two months later, I’m finally in a position to post a vlog again! It wasn’t for lack of material that it took so long; it was the fact that I only had my laptop with me, which doesn’t have the required graphics power to support the creation of high-resolution vlogs.

I believe the wait has been worth it, though. Today I present you a feast for the senses, stunning landscapes and all the magic Ireland has to offer. In the two months I spent there, nature went from winter to spring, and it’s quite noticeable in all the footage.

I hope you’ll enjoy it! If you’d prefer to watch on YouTube, please click here.

Here follows the exact transcript of everything that’s being said in the vlog.

When I set out at the end of February, it was still full-on winter.

I'm in this lovely B&B after driving through five countries yesterday - five countries! I started out in um Croatia, obviously, went through Slovenia, then Austria, then Germany and now I'm in France. And that's where I stayed overnight, and now I'll have to cross the entirety of France, which is another probably 8 to 9 hours' drive, and then this evening, there's the ferry in Cherbourg, so I hope I won't have any delays and will get through in one piece - and won't miss the fairy, that's my main worry right now. That's why I'm up uncharacteristically early and I'm leaving, it's about 7:30 and now I'm getting into the car and leaving.

One of the first things I saw in Ireland was a rainbow. Did you know that Ireland is the country where you can see the most rainbows of anywhere in the world?

Back in County Mayo and with my beloved Mount Nephin, I went to the woods to do archery the next day.

Ha! Not exactly a kill but I hit them.

Let's see if I can film a little bit here or if it's going to keep focusing on me and making the background-, taking the background away. Such a gorgeous day, I mean, look at the sky. And I'm a little sad because they cut down part of my forest - this part, just behind me. The rest still stands, and it's fine, it was always meant to be cut for timber but it's just such a sad state of affairs. There's little enough forest left in Ireland as it is.

In March, I was house- and pet-sitting this gorgeous young cocker spanel called Archie.

All month, I did the things I usually do: I had lunch at my favorite Cafe, McHugh's, drove through Mayo and went to archery.

I spent a lovely Easter with Ziva, Jack and the kids and the families, but most of that footage is private, so instead I'm going to show you how Jack turns a chunk of tree into this beautiful wooden bowl.

Not too much wobble in that now, I will go with it.

I also spent one day driving around Lough Mask.

With yet another rainbow, my second house-sit started after Easter, for this beautiful elderly dog called Zoey.

The weather turned awful and I was sick for over a week, and once I got better, I visited Jack at a place he works, Cragaunowen, which is a medieval tower around which they have built a replica of an old medieval settlement.

Hello! - Hey! You see me in my natural habitat. It's a magical place.

And then it was time for the Mayo Archery Club's shoot. I was only there in the morning because I didn't participate this time, but I did go back to the woods a couple of days later to shoot, too.

One morning, I visited another of my favorite spots: Yeats's Tower. It's a magical spot with a very serene atmosphere.

And then came the end of my time with my lovely little Zoey and it was almost time to go. As a gift to myself, I spent two days in Connemara and County Mayo, and with my usual luck, I had the most glorious weather.

I spent the night at a B&B at the foot of Mount Nephin and the next morning, I went to Harry's to pack most of the rest of my boxes into my little car.

So here's my fully packed car, and me very tired after no sleep. And I am in my favorite place in the world, the woods where I do archery, for the last time now before I go back to Croatia. So yeah, I don't sleep a lot because there's a lot to handle emotionally, and it's just a bit heavy. But for the most part it's lovely and nice, and of course I can always come back and I shouldn't be silly. I also got most of my stuff that was still at my friend's place into the car, and next time I come up I'll definitely be able to bring the rest, because it's less than what is in here now. So there's not that much left, so that'll be fantastic.

I just wanted to talk to the camera one more time. There's been so much beauty, and I hope I've been able to bring across what it was. And what I didn't film so much of was the people that I met. Some of them are a bit camera shy, some of my friends say: "No, I do not want to see my face in a vlog or on social media", and I respect that. And the other part was what I said in my last vlog: I don't always want to just have the camera when I've meet someone I love, because I want to just focus on the people and not on filming them or taking pictures or whatever, so you see more of the place and the places I've been than of the people that I've met. But there were very many warm, beautiful, loving encounters and I'm very grateful for that.

And that was it! I hope you like the vlog of the last two months. If you did, comment, like, subscribe, all the good YouTube stuff, and if you're interested in finding out more about myself or my work, then check out my website wildspiritscoaching.com. Have a beautiful month of May. Bye!
